4 Online Marketing Trends Companies Will Want to Take Note Of
Digital marketing trends you will surely notice this year
Anyone who works in the digital marketing world knows that online marketing trends come and go all the time. Change is something that is inevitable in a world like online marketing, as everyone who wants to survive needs to adapt. New ideas spring up seemingly at random, and there are definitely some that have changed the digital world for the better, and some that have been so insignificant that nobody remembers them anymore. Despite this, with every new trend comes a new way for you to reach your target audience and that is something that is sure to interest a lot of people.
Keep in mind though that just because it is a trend, it doesn’t mean it is completely new. Some of these are going to be something that a lot have heard of before, but they didn’t really catch on until now. Some of these were also popular for a time, but then for one reason or another lost their appeal and are just starting to become a trend again. - Going mobile
This is something that is pretty obvious, when you think about it. Technology being what it is these days, it should come as no surprise that having a mobile-friendly landing page is essential to all businesses. But despite this seemingly conspicuous need for mobile pages, a lot of companies today are still not creating websites that are mobile-friendly. This is quite surprising considering that by not having a mobile-friendly website people might be missing out on millions of dollars.
Just imagine a customer who was interested backed out at the last minute when their smartphones couldn’t properly navigate through the page. Considering that a lot people use mobile more and more to browse the web, this is definitely something companies should prioritize.
- Enhancing customer experience
Of course, people will want to know the product or service well before investing their money. And aside from the service or product itself, they would also want to know if the company providing these is reputable, and the best way to do that would be to sift through customer reviews. Studies have shown that most of the adults below 50 check out customer reviews before making a purchase.

The way to apply this in online marketing is to have a system that asks for reviews, be it via email, or a customer comments section on the website. Of course, this could be a double-edged sword as nobody can really have 100% of their customer base be fully satisfied with what they provide. However, it is worth the risk as search engines will not allow a company with sub-par ratings hog the top spot on the SERPs.
- Using live videos
We know that video has always been a popular medium for getting your point across. These days, people want to consume data as easily as possible, and they don’t want to use their time going through pages and pages of text just to know what your company is capable of. That’s the reason why a lot people usually look for an instructional video on what you can do when they reach a landing page.
However, it’s not just video that is growing in popularity in the online market these days, but more specifically live video. A lot of social media platforms are jumping on the live video bandwagon, as live clips are a great way to get your message across to a lot of people at the same time, and be able to give the customer a feeling of you talking directly to them. That personal touch is well appreciated by a lot, so expect to see a lot of companies leveraging live video to their advantage soon.
- Giving a new twist to content creation
Using content as a way to market your website is a tried and true strategy in digital marketing. However, because of this the problem that a lot of companies face is that everyone is doing it. Yes, content is still working, and if you want to rank in search engines you need to use good content, but what about the everyday reader?
